Bengali New Year is around, so let’s start the New Year with some simple and delicious dishes. Bengalis are very much fond of their own cuisine. We have so many varieties of delicious dishes which can surely trigger our taste buds. Here some simple and delicious Bengali dishes,
Luchi Aloor Torkari (লুচি আলুর তরকারি)
We can never think of a Bengali breakfast without fluffy luchi and aloor torkari. This light golden tasty luchi is heavenly when you have it with simple aloor torkari, with begun bhaja. If you like to have spicy torkari that will also be balanced with hot luchis. So this New Year, start your day with Luchi aloor torkari with begun bhaja.
Start your lunch with bhaat, dal and Shukto. It is an authentic Bengali dish, served in the first course of a meal. Shukto is delicious and healthy, this dish is prepared with brinjals, sweet potatoes, bitter gourd, bori and other vegetables. A must try Bengali dish to have in lunch.
Aloo Posto (আলু পোস্ত)
This preparation is light and tasty, after you finish with shukto then aloo posto is must in your menu card for Bengali New Year lunch. Bengalis love to have aloo posto or aloo potol posto and if it is accompanied with bulir dal then it becomes more complete. This particular dish has a huge fan following all together. Put this dish in your must try list and enjoy while having it.
Chingri Macher Malaikari (চিংড়ি মাছের মালাইকারি)
This dish do not exactly fall in the category of simple cuisine but this is a must try dish for all the bengalis. For non-bengalis, I suggest you to add it in your must try list. This is one of the mostcommon dishes for bengali get-together or festivals. With thick coconut gravy, the jumbo prawn tastes heavenly. So this Bengali New Year, Chingri Macher Malaikari should be there in your lunch menu card.
Sorsebata Ilish (সর্ষেবাটা ইলিশ)
Marinate the fish with turmeric and mustard poppy seed paste along with some spices and Sorsebata Ilish is ready. This particular dish is little in the spicier side, but the taste is heavenly. Put it in your must try list to enjoy this delicious dish.
